Set up a greenhouse kit.

Kit Masters Greenhouse manufacturing Co. is dedicated to providing the back yard and commercial grower the opportunity to construct a durable and affordable greenhouse structure.

We offer complete kits or the key component parts for constructing greenhouses, such as arch corners, coupling sleeves, pipe clips, pylons, plastic film etc.

Using Kit Masters greenhouse component parts you can build any size greenhouse you want, or have room for, from 12' wide to 30' wide and as long as you like.

Start with ground preparation where needed. Here we had a rather steep slope so we stacked rocks to form a retaining wall then back filled it with a cheap local aggregate (rock).

Now lay out your footings The arches are 5' apart, and make sure you measure all corners diagonally to check if its square. We highly recommend that you concrete your pylons 18" into the ground for structures over 20' wide. See: Pier blocks

Next unpack one arch at a time, lay it out to match number code at each end. Also make sure you start with a gable arch and end with a gabled arch.

Assemble the arches and stand them on there pylons one at a time. until all arches are standing.

  level1.jpg (105276 bytes) level2.jpg (106534 bytes)

Now we level the structure start with the highest point on the ground, because you can lift up to level but can not go down with it. Simply use a torpedo level, a pair of vise grips to hold the arch up where needed and drill two holes staggered with a 7/32" cobalt drill bit. Sink two screws into each one repeat until all arches have been leveled and anchored to there pylons.

Framing for a door: Start by driving a concrete forming stake into the ground just to the out side edge of your door frame, which is 2"x4" sides 2"x4" header and 2"x4" threshold. After stakes are in the ground hang your verticals over your gable truss and the stakes. Once both verticals are hung plumb them and drill & anchor your vertical strap and your gable truss to keep it plumb. Then set your level on the header install pipe straps and anchor them as shown in pictures above. See: Truss & verticals

endwall2.jpg (62808 bytes) endwall3.jpg (43166 bytes)

If you are installing end walls they need to be hung before you pull the plastic over the top. When installing end wall plastic you need to bring your plastic level across the front framing but then wrap your plastic around the inside of the arch so the plastic will hang over your end arches in the same direction as the top cover. Put only a few clips on your end wall cover to hold it up as after you pull the cover over you will clip off both the end wall and the top cover with the same clip. Make sure its level and centered so you have plenty to attach at both sides.

Now throw ropes over your structure about every 20'. Roll out your plastic film and tie a small rag or a sock into the edge of the plastic film. Have some friends help you pull your plastic over. Have some people pulling and some people lifting from the other side and one person on a latter to help it go over the top. Never force it if it gets stuck back off and let the person on the latter fix it.

PressonPressoff.jpg (4764 bytes)

Pull plastic tight over the top and clip off both ends first then clip off both sides. One clip for every foot of pipe is recommended. To apply pipe clips simply pull plastic tight wrap around pipe and press on with the palm of your hand. To remove clip press off with two thumbs. Remember these clips are a hold fast product and are very difficult to remove once they have been pressed on.

Now cut clip and staple your door way and hang your door.endwall1.jpg (54117 bytes)

Trim off any excess plastic film hanging from your end walls.

Your structure should look like one of these by now.

Gable vent installation is just like the door.

Your final step is to weave and clip off your shade cloth or side wall plastic and move in, it's done. See Order form for Kit Prices.
